Yatindra Mishra is a celebrated poet, author, and cinema scholar. He has penned four collections of Hindi poetry titled: ‘Yada-Kada,’ ‘Ayodhya Tatha Anya Kavitayein,’ ‘Dyorhi Par Aalaap’ and ‘Vibhas.’
He has also written about the life and work of Thumri singer Girija Devi, dancer Sonal Mansingh, and Shehnai Maestro Bismillah Khan.
He is the editor of a cultural gazetteer of Faizabad titled ‘Shahernama Faizabad’. He is also a recipient of many awards for his literary contributions including the Bharatiya Jnanpith fellowship, Raza Foundation Award, among others.
His book ‘Lata: Sur Gatha’ won 6 awards in a year including the prestigious 64th National Film Award-2016 for Best Writing on Cinema (Swarna Kamal) and MAMI Mumbai Film Festival Award for Best Writing on Cinema.
