Rajeev Chandrasekhar

Rajeev Chandrasekhar is a Member of Parliament and a Union Minister of State for the ministries of Electronics and Information Technology and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. He started his career as a Senior Design Engineer at Intel. He also pioneered the mobile phone technology in India and is considered to be one of the leading technology minds in India. However, he saw real growth in his political career when he was appointed to Rajya Sabha representing Urban Bengaluru, Karnataka in 2006.

He is often referred to as the Guardian MP of Veterans and Armed Forces and continues to advocate their cause consistently in and outside Parliament. Rajeev’s fight for attaining Freedom of Expression and Speech on the Internet made the Supreme Court scrap Article 66A of the IT Act. He was also nominated for the UK’s prestigious Index Freedom of Expression Award for 2013, for spearheading these issues.
