An alumnus of Lady Shri Ram College , Delhi based Mrs Neerja Sarin has been interested in arts and crafts of the country for a long time. Since 2000, she has been engaged in voluntary work with SPICMACAY and as its Central Advisor, has organized concerts in classical music, dance and folk art forms in different parts of the country and many foreign countries.
For the past ten years, her focus has shifted to promoting traditional arts and crafts of IndIa amongst the youth. She has had the opportunity to interact with Master Craft persons from all over India.
She has designed a special 3-5 day workshop module especially for the youth. which is educative and participatory in nature. When organized in educational institutions, it provides an environment for close interaction with craft gurus, artistes and artisans.
This brings forth the importance of preserving our rich heritage, some of which is slowly fading away due to lack of patronage.
